Were I Bob Schieffer, I would have said the following in response to either Blackwell, Cheney, or Gillespie. “This is a speech the Governor gave to people in New Hampshire in an effort to convince people to vote for him as President. This is the essence of the campaign, it’s not a side issue. This represents Governor Perry’s attempt to suggest solutions to the problems you say we should be covering. This is not a media issue, it’s an ‘is this guy qualified to be President’ issue.” So, how will this speech affect the public’s perception of that?
